Privacy Policy

1. Overview
Secure Drop ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our peer-to-peer file sharing service. The core principle of Secure Drop is privacy by design: we do not store your files on our servers.
2. Data Collections & Usage
Files
We do not upload, store, or view the files you share. Files are transferred directly between the sender's device and the receiver's device using WebRTC (Web Real-Time Communication) technology.
Connection Data
To establish a connection between peers, a signaling server is used to exchange connection metadata (ICE candidates, Session Description Protocol). This metadata contains technical information (IP addresses, ports) needed to connect devices. This data is transient and is not stored permanently.
3. Cookies and Local Storage
We use local storage technology simply to maintain the state of your current session (e.g., your theme preference). We do not use cookies for tracking or advertising purposes.
4. Third-Party Services
We use Google's STUN servers (stun:stun.l.google.com:19302) to assist in establishing connections through NATs and firewalls. Your IP address may be visible to these servers during the connection process, subject to Google's privacy policy.
